Brighton & Hove Sports Facilities Investment Plan

Closed 17 Jan 2021

Opened 16 Nov 2020

Overview

Introduction

The council is currently developing a Sports Facilities Investment Plan that aims to improve the sports facilities provided within our city and we want your feedback on the long term plans.

The purpose of the investment plan will be to deliver good quality, accessible, sustainable facilities and services which support increased levels of participation. This leads to improving the health and wellbeing of residents across the city.

The sports facilities buildings are popular and essential in providing leisure opportunities. However, they're showing their age. The most recent 'new' leisure centre in the city was built nearly 30 years ago. Old buildings are inefficient, expensive to run and maintain, and often fail to meet modern demands.

Your role

If you are a regular user of one of the city’s sports facilities, or even if you have never visited or taken part in sport before (but would like to), please take the time to complete the survey.

We want to hear from:

  • residents (including Students)
  • businesses and their employees
  • community groups
  • members of sports clubs/physical activity groups

We will also be consulting with the organisers or committees of sports clubs/physical activity groups directly.

What we'll do with the results

The findings of the survey will be included in the final Sports Facilities Investment Plan which will be presented to the council’s Tourism, Equalities, Community and Culture Committee and used to help inform the Sport and Physical Activity Strategy.

To say thank you for filling in our survey, you will be given the opportunity to enter into a prize draw for the chance to win one of ten £25 Love2Shop vouchers.

Instructions for entering the prize draw will be available once you have submitted your responses to the survey.
