TRO-16-2020 Parking Changes

Closes 30 Apr 2021

Opened 31 Jul 2020

The footways along sections of St James’s Street, Church Road (Hove) and London Road have been widened to allow for the safe passage of pedestrians with social distancing, particularly outside shops where queues may form. Changes to the parking restrictions are required to relocate the parking provision where possible or to revoke if necessary.

Loading bans are required as parking on the narrowed roads would cause an obstruction; it has also been observed that the widened footpaths have been parked on in places. The loading restriction will ensure that traffic flows and pedestrians are not put in danger by vehicles parking on the footway.

The Taxi rank has been moved to the Old Steine at the bottom of St James’s Street to maintain availability for the commercial area.

The amendment order introduces additional Blue Badge Parking and a loading bay in London Road.
