TRO-13-2020 Argyle Road/A23

Closes 24 Jan 2021

Opened 17 Jul 2020

Overview

Road space along one side of the A23 between Argyle Road and Dyke Road Drive will be temporarily allocated to cyclists to use as a two-way cycle lane. The change includes improvements at a key pinch point along the National Cycle Network route 20 - a popular and well used route into the city - and creates additional space on the pavement so that pedestrians can physically distance.

Water-filled barriers will ensure that there is a physical barrier between cyclists and other traffic on the road. Temporary signs and road markings along the route make road users aware of the change.

To accommodate this change a temporary road closure will be needed, as well as the suspension of a bus stop and a number of on-road parking bays.
