Improving walking, cycling and accessibility on the A259 (seafront)

Closes 9 Jan 2022

Opened 25 Nov 2021

Overview

The way we move around our city is changing. With more of us choosing to walk or cycle, and with funding from central government, we’re working to support active travel across Brighton & Hove.

We’re taking action to help our city in both the short and long term by reallocating road space for people who walk or cycle. This includes new protected cycle lanes for safety and additional pavement space.

We’re now seeking your views on our plans to improve walking, cycling and disabled access on A259 Kingsway from Fourth Avenue to
Wharf Road. This will include improvements and extensions to pavements, extending the on street cycle lane and improving accessibility.
