In November 2021, residents in the Hallyburton Road area were written to to gauge whether there was support for a residents parking scheme.
The results from this initial consultation showed that 72.9% of respondents supported the introduction of a resident parking scheme.
Therefore, in June 2022 we wrote to residents and businesses in this area again and asked if they would support a light-touch residents’ parking scheme.
The proposed scheme would be active Monday to Friday from 10am to 11am and from 5pm to 6pm.
69 residents responded to the consultation.
You can find more information and full consultation results in the September 2022 Environment, Transport and Sustainability Committee report.
Based on the consultation results and following the Environment, Transport and Sustainability committee in September 2022, we will be advertising a Traffic Regulation Order (TRO) on 11 November 2022.
Following the Traffic Regulation Order (TRO) advertisement, a report was presented to the Environment, Transport, and Sustainability committee in January 2023. Councillors at this meeting had agreed to proceed with the proposed parking zone.
Work on the ground will begin in the springtime with a scheme going live in June 2023. We will be writing to all households and businesses in the area nearer the time explaining how to apply for a parking permit.
