We asked

After the Environment, Transport and Sustainability (ETS) Committee on 23 June 2020, we agreed to write to all residents and businesses in the Surrenden Road parking consultation area.

We asked if residents and businesses in this area would support a light-touch residents parking scheme. The proposed scheme would operate Monday to Friday, 9am to 10am and 2pm to 3pm.

You said

74% of respondents support the implementation of a residents parking scheme.

We did

Based on the consultation results, we included a proposal for a light-touch scheme in a Traffic Regulation Order (TRO).

The TRO was advertised from 18 June 2021 to 09 July 2021.

A report with the comments received to the TRO was presented at the ETS Committee on 21 September 2021.

Overview

We’re asking residents and businesses in the Surrenden Road area if they would support a resident parking scheme.

Approval for the scheme to be implemented was given at ETS Committee on 21 September 2021.

What happens next

All comments received during the consultation were carefully considered.

The results of the TRO were reported to the council's Environment, Transport and Sustainability Committee on 21 September 2021.

Road marking and post installation will commence October 2021. Read the road marking schedule.

The new residents parking scheme (Zone 10) will go live on 7 February 2022.

We'll write to residents and businesses 8 weeks before to invite them to apply for permits.
