Hove station area masterplan

Closed 7 Feb 2021

Opened 14 Dec 2020

Overview

What's happened so far

Work on the masterplan has been ongoing since January 2020, following the appointment of a consultant team led by Tibbalds Planning & Urban Design.

The masterplan has been prepared in the form of a draft Supplementary Planning Document. This means that it will provide guidance that adds detail to ‘higher-level’ planning policies (in the Brighton & Hove City Plan and the ‘emerging’ Hove Station Neighbourhood Plan).

Where the masterplan area is

The masterplan focusses on land to the south of the railway within the City Plan ‘DA6’ Hove Station Development Area. But it also considers the wider DA6 area and connected neighbourhoods.

How we're consulting on the masterplan

We've engaged with a range of stakeholders in the preparation of the draft masterplan. This included key landowners within the ‘core’ masterplan area, and north of the railway.

A draft version of the resulting SPD was approved for public consultation purposes on 19 November 2020 by the council’s Tourism, Equalities, Communities and Culture Committee.

An online exhibition and online video conferencing meetings will form a part of the consultation.

The council is hosting 2 online public meetings on Zoom in January 2021. Council officers and a representative from the consultant team will be available to answer questions and clarify issues where possible.

The Zoom meetings will be held on:
