We work with East Sussex County Council and the South Downs National Park Authority to create planning policies that apply to waste management, minerals infrastructure and minerals extraction development. Together we are updating some of the policies in the East Sussex, South Downs and Brighton & Hove Waste and Minerals Local Plan. The policies we are updating are mainly focussed on our approach to ensuring there is a steady and reliable supply of minerals to the plan area over the period to 2030.
We submitted our revised policies for Examination by government appointed planning inspectors in 2022. Public hearing sessions took place in November 2022 and we are now proposing some changes to the plan, known as modifications. We would now like your views on the proposed modifications. The consultation link below will take you to a web page with a joint consultation hosted by East Sussex County Council.
Please see the Planning Inspectorate’s Procedure Guide for Local Plan Examinations external webpage for more information about local plan examinations.
