Proposed West Saltdean Neighbourhood Area and Forum

Closes 21 Jun 2022

Opened 10 May 2022

Overview

The West Saltdean community have submitted an application to establish a neighbourhood area and neighbourhood forum for the West Saltdean Area.

What's being proposed

The West Saltdean community submitted two applications to the council that relate to the area shown on the accompanying map.

One seeks to designate the area as a Neighbourhood Area and the other seeks to designate a Neighbourhood Forum.

If they're approved, the Neighbourhood Forum will be able to draw up a Neighbourhood Development Plan for the area.

How it affects you

Neighbourhood planning gives local people who live, work, or are elected representatives in an area, the right to draw up a Neighbourhood Plan. This sets out a vision for future development in the area.

If the Forum designation is made, no other organisation can be designated to draw up a Neighbourhood Plan for the area.

How to get involved

The consultation runs from Tuesday 10 May to 11:59pm Tuesday 21 June 2022. (Please note that the original consultation dates have been amended due to purdah. Any comments received on 26 April 2022 remain valid and will be counted.)

Alternatively, a response form in Word is available on request by emailing neighbourhoodplanning@brighton-hove.gov.uk.

Paper copies of the submitted documents are available in Saltdean, Jubilee and Hove libraries. Large print copies of the documents are available on request. Further information is available by emailing neighbourhoodplanning@brighton-hove.gov.uk
